a. Note:   00 Northampton County, Pennsylvania census record. The marriage date is from correspondence with Mrs. Norman Rutman of Bethlehem, PA in the 1980's and Marriage Register, Courthouse, Allentown, PA. This census records gives George F Rutman's birth as June, 1880. This is probably a misprint or careless entry as Thomas and Mary were married on 30 Oct 1880. This census record also states that Mary Smith Rutman had given birth to 4 children, but only three were living in 1900. This fourth child was Eugene W Rutman, whose birth was found in the Northampton County Registers of Births, 1983-1906.
