a. Note:   nce, Ohio census listings. Widow Jane Barber and her children are living with her father Amos in Fayette township on the 1880 census. Jane is living with her son Stephen A Barber on the 1900 census along with unmarried brother Marlin Barber, born 1862. As there is no record of a Marlin Barber born 1862 on the census records, but only a Silas M Barbar born 1862, I assume this is the same son.
  The source for the birthplace of Thomas Barber as Grayson County, Virginia is from the Virginia State Death Certificate of his son, William Sherman Barber. See notes under William Sherman Barber.
  The source for the month and year of birth for Silas and Stephen is the 1900 census.
