The source for the birth and death dates of Thomas Freyman are Thomas FREYMAN, son of Carl FREYMAN and Levina STECKEL, born 2 Feb 1844/1845?, died 25 Jul 1845. Reference: FHL 974.827 K2d, Vol. 3 - Pastoral Records of Rev. Joseph S. DUBS, Burials, pg. 11, has Thomas F. FREYMAN, son of Chas. and Lovina born 2 Feb "1843", died 25 Jul 1845, buried Egypt. (NOTE: In looking at this again, I wonder if Thomas was born 2 Feb 1845 and the extractor of the record mistook handwriting of "1845" for "1843". Charles and Levina were married 2 April 1843, so I suppose Thomas could have been born two months prior to their marriage, but that wasn't all that common among these families. The resolution of the birth and death dates would obviously require a firsthand look at the original primary source documents to verify what was written. Transcription errors are quite common. The possibility of a couple getting married two months after the birth of a child was not common but it certainly occurred. A explanation could be given that would include some persuasion by the family following the birth of the child. The father of the child may have been 'persuaded' to accept the responsibility. The marriage may have also occurred after the birth and after the mother filed F&B charges in the county criminal court system. When found guilty, the marriage may have occurred. I would not dismiss the dates or the possibility of a late marriage until there is further proof. Keep in mind that false birth years are sometimes used by parents or children to cover-up these type of 'out-of-wedlock' situations. The resolution of the birth and death dates would obviously require a firsthand look at the original primary source documents to verify what was written. I have not done this. The source for the birth and death dates of Amelia D. are Amelia FREYMAN, daughter of Carl FREYMAN and Levina STECKEL, born 16 Mar 1862, died 12 Aug 1864, buried Egypt Cemetery - Reference: FHL 974.8 K2ri - Circuit and Circuit Riders, Vol. 1 - Records of Egypt Cemetery, pg. 188 has Amelia D.
