Note: PARENTS: The source for the birth of Joseph are the birth records of the Jordan Reformed Church in South Whitehall, Lehigh Co., and birth and death date of Lydia is from the burial records at St Johns in Howerton. Source for marriage of Joseph and Lydia is from the German newspaper "Unabhaengiger Republikaner" of Northampton County, Pennsylvania, 23 Mar 1836. This family is found on the 1850 North Whitehall, Lehigh, Pennsylvania census under the name Joseph "Frzmon". A Salley Yehl, aged 50, is living in the household, and is perhaps an older sister of Lydia. When attempting to discover the parentage of Lydia Yehl in January, 2019 researcher Dick Musselman was unable to identify any definite parents. He wrote in January of 2019: "...That concluded my research. Unfortunately no significant information was found regarding the heritage of your Lydia Yehl. There certainly were Yehl families identified that may have had a daughter her age, but church and public records were not found allowing identification of these family members. It is also evident from the research that several of the Yehl men resided outside the area prior to returning after the death of Andrew Yehl Sr. in 1814. These locations have not been identified..." The lengthy research notes he compiled on the greater Yehl family of Northampton and Lehigh counties in January of 2019 is kept in a digial file in possession of Neil Rutman. The source for the second marriage of Joseph Freyman to the married Mary Koch is the German newspaper "Der Friedens Bote" of Northampton County, PA, 22 Jan 1862.
