PARENTS:
The birthdate of John Johnson has caused some confusion. The microfilm Lawrence County, Ohio births, film 41147, pt 1 and 4 has Nancy born 24 May 1872 and John W. 18 Jun 1870, which is in conflict with Nancy's death certificate, which lists her as being born in 1870, most likely an error. The 1870 census also lists John as older than Nancy Ellen and lists John as born in 1870 and Nancy born in 1873. To further complicate the matter, the 1900 census lists John's birthday as June 1871. I have given John the birth year of 1871 and Nancy born a year later, in 1872. The dates of death and other related statistics for John Johnson and wife Sarah Crawford come from their Ohio State Death Certificates. Since the name of John Johnson was so common, his certificate was checked for the correct parents. and the names of Serilda Martin and William Johnson appeared, verifying the identity of this John Johnson. Their marriage date comes from undocumented source on newfamilysearch.com.
The birthdate listed here for Sarah Crawford is from the 1900 Ohio census. Her Ohio State Death certificate, whose informant was her duaghter, Mrs. Frank Dilley, says birhtdate is 28 June, 1877.

The dates of death and related statistics for Delbert, Henry, and John Wesley Jr. come from their Ohio State Death Certificates.
Jasper, on the 1920 Lawrence County census, is named Ebert J on the 1930 Clark county census.
The source for the reconstruction of the John Johnson family is the 1900 Lawrence County, Ohio census record. The information on the film 41147 has sister Nancy born 24 May 1872 and John W. 18 Jun 1870 which is in conflict with Nancy's death certificate. The 1870 Lawrence County census also lists John as older than Nancy Ellen and lists John as born in 1870 and Nancy as born in 1873. To further complicate the matter, the 1900 census lists John's birthday as June 1871.
There are also two other children for this couple on newfamilysearch- a male Johnson born 1906, and a John Wesley Johnson 1913-1915. As the contributors are unnamed and these children have yet to be confirmed, I have left them off the list.

The source for the birth and death dates of Henry Raymond is from is headstone in the Myrtle Ridge cemetery. The day and month for his birthdate is from Lawrence Co, Ohio Births- 1868-1938.
The source for the marriage of Mary A Johnson to Joseph Marcinko as well as her birth and death dates were discovered in the following manner:
The five daughter of John Wesley Johnson were mentioned by married name in his 1943 obituary. None of them were listed with their own Christian names but in the form of, for example, 'Mrs. Edward Jones.' The names of the spouses for four of the daughters were already known, so discovering the mention of 'Mrs. Jospeh Marcinko of Springfield', determined that this was Mary. Mary was single on the 1940 census with her father and mother, yet by the 1943 obituary of her father she was Mrs. Joseph Marcinko. That is the source of the 'abt. 1942' marriage date.
Searching for the vital statistics of Joseph and Mary took a circuitous route. It seems their travels took them to California during World War II, and finally to Mesa, Arizona. First, a researcher notified me of the following find: "...One birth in Los Angeles county to MARCINKO and JOHNSON. Michael Joseph Marcinko on 3-31-1951. This family shows on the 1958 directory in Santa Maria CA. Joseph Marcinko is in USAF. Son Michael Joseph Marcinko got married in Maricopa AZ and resides in AZ..." This same researcher subsequently found the death record of both a Mary A Macinko (born in Ohio and the same year period as Mary A Johnson) and Joseph Marcinko in Maricopa County, the county of the marriage of the chlid born to Marcinko and Johnson in California.

Both Mary A and Joseph Marcinko died in Mesa, Maricopa, Arizona. The same researcher subsequently sent me the following note:
"...Joseph Marcinko is also buried in the same cemetery as Mary. He was born Jan 1, 1899 and died August 10, 1981. He was previously married to a Kathryn S. Pearman who died in 1998 in Clark County Ohio. Her obit on FINDAGRAVE mentions second marriage to G. Lamar Littler for 57 years (1941) so the marriage to Mary was soon after that as the the Littlers are listed in a 1943 directory. Quite a difference in age!"
The fact that Joseph Marcinko married and divorced a Kathryn Pearman who died in Clark County, the County of Mary A Johnson's rearing, further connects this Joseph Marcinko who died in 1981in Arizona with Mary A Johnson Marcinko who died in 1997 in Arizona.
The source for the exact birthdate and deathdate of John Wesley Jr. is from his headstone in the Myrtle Ridge cemetery, Lawrence County, Ohio.
