Note: he Rev. Joseph Freeman is his Pennsylvania State Death Certificate no. 30771 (transcribed on Ancestry as Joseph Greman!). This document also lists the names of Eliza Ann Fletcher and Mrs. Annie Gombert as 1st and 2nd wives. Gornbert is written by hand and is a pretty definite interpretation of the handwriting. The source for the information on the wives of Joseph Freyman is finding Joseph Freeman, minister, born in 1848/9 on the 1910 and 1930 census with wives Eliza M [not A] and Anna, respectively. The 1910 census shows Joseph and Eliza A in Allentown. The census is the source for the Eliza's birth and date in Ireland, and states she was the mother of six children of whom 4 are living in 1910, that she received citizenship in 1881, and had been married 38 years. Joseph is listed as Joseph 'E' Freeman. This is the source for the names of her parents, exact birth and death dates, and location of burial. Her birthdate is listed as 11 August 1847 which may be a mistake. Eliza Ann is consistently listed on all census records as two years older than Joseph, who was born in 1847. The issue is resolved, at least if the data is to be believed, by her headstone in the Greenwood cemetery which gives birth date as 11 August, 1846. 1930 census shows Joseph 'A' Freeman, retired clergyman, and second wife Anna D Freeman in Allentown. This is the source for the state of nativity and birth year of Anna. It also indicates that this was not Anna's first marriage. She is listed as being 18 at her first marriage on this census. This fits in with the indication on Joseph's death certificate cited above, as his 'second wife' was listed as 'Mrs.' Anna Gombert. This implies Gombert was not her maiden, but first married name. Source Information: Ancestry.com. 1930 United States Federal Census. Subsequent research has discovered the Pennsylvania State Death Certificate no. 110956 for Anna which reveals that she was a Long. This record indicates her middle name, the names of the her parents, her birth date and location, her death date and location, and place of burial. She is entered as Anna Freeman, wife of J. E. Freeman. A well documented Ancestry Public Member Family Tree names her first husband as Andrew Jackson Gombert. This is confirmed by her burial in the St John's cemetery in Lehighton as 'Annie D Gombert', whose birth and death dates on the headstone match those of Annie Freeman, and the placement of her grave is next to that of Andrew Jackson Gombert. The source of their 'abt 1884' marriage is the 1930 census records listing above as Annie's first marriage at age 18. The source for the birth and death dates, names of parents and their birthplaces, and place of Andrew's burial is from his Pennsylvania State Death Certificate no. 62. It states the cause of death was "Due to a runaway in Hay Spreader by having brains dashed out. Death immediately."
