The date is the same on both. The 1900 census is the source for the birth month, year, and location of Harvey, living in the home of parents, Alfred and Ida. Bessie was listed as a son in the 1900 census and correctly as a daughter in the 1920 census. She is living with her parents on the 1930 census at age 40 as Bessie Freeman and listed as 'single'. Bessie is living a a single woman on the 1940 census with her sister Florence and brother in law, Edwin Billheimer. The source for the marriage of George and Edith is "Pennsylvania, County Marriages, 1885-1950," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VF7T-N31 : accessed 09 Nov 2014), George L. Freeman and Edith Wetzel, 21 Jan 1922; citing Marriage, Pennsylvania, county courthouses, Pennsylvania; FHL microfilm 2080238. This document is the source for the names of the parents of Edith, and her birthplace in Weatherly. It indicates that the father was deceased at the time of marriage, born in Pennsylvania, and that her mother was from Germany. It is likely that this marriage ended in divorce as George is listed on the 1930 census back with his parents as 'divorced'. The alternative is that Edith died, George remarried, and this theoretical second marriage ended in divorce. Source Citation: Year: 1930; Census Place: Allentown, Lehigh, Pennsylvania; Roll: 2063; Page: 7A; Enumeration District: 25; Image: 859.0; FHL microfilm: 2341797. This document, when consulting the original, lists an illegible city as the birthplace of Edwin, but the state is Pennsylvania. This document lists the parents of Edwin, but caution may need to be exercised here. No James and Marrietta Billheimer can be found on the 1900 census. There is an Edwin Billheimer born in 1893 in Northampton County on the 1900 census, but the parents are Amos and Mabel Billheimer. Could the parental names on the marriage certificate be incorrect?
Note: Oliver appears as Freeman on the 1880, 1910, 1910, 1920 and 1930 census
