The history of Jesse Foster has been more difficult to trace. There is a 24 year old Jesse Foster on the 1880 Union, Lawrence County census living with his 30 year old stepmother, but listed as single. Could this be the same Jesse? No record for a Jesse Foster who can be proved to be this one has been found. A Jesse Sill Foster died in Ohio in 1883 but, on following the paper trail, this is not the same man.
