Note: Lucinda Martin probably died young. She appears on the 1850 Lawrence County census, but her non appearance in the family of William Martin Sr. on the 1860 census suggests either an early death or a marriage before age 14, for which there is no record in the Lawrence County Marriage Books. An early death is likely or a marriage under a nickname such as Cindy, Lucy, etc.
There is a marriage for a Lucinda Martin in the neighboring county of Jackson in 1867 to a John Whetstone. On following this family through the 1870, 1880 and 1900 census records it is evident that this is a different Lucinda Martin, as she was born in 1835 on all records, and in Pennsylvania.
