James Ludwig's July 10 1922 obituary states that he was 'survived by two daughters, Hester Walker of Amesbury, Massachusetts, Ella Fehr of Easton, and Oscar and Richard of Philadelphia.' This is the source for the 'bef. 1922' deaths of Anna Elizabeth and Clara. Ella Fehr is also referred to in the 1930 obituary of James' son, Oscar as Mrs. Ella Fehr. Henry and Edward for some reason are missing as surviving sons! The source for the birth and death dates for Sarah Tyndall Ludwig is her headstone in the Reformed Cemetery, Stone Church, Northampton County, Pa. CHILDREN: The source for the birth date and baptism date of Edward is Source Citation: Historical Society of Pennsylvania; Historic Pennsylvania Church and Town Records; Reel: 794. The source for the birth date and baptism date at age four of Annie Elizabeth Ludwig (so listed) is Source Citation: Historical Society of Pennsylvania; Historic Pennsylvania Church and Town Records; Reel: 794. This document is also the source for the middle name of mother Sarah being Ann. The source for the 'bef. 1922' death of Annie Elizabeth is her non mention as a surviving daughter in the 1922 obituary of her father, James J Ludwig, mentioned above. The source for the son Frank who does not appear on the 1880 census is the inclusion of his name as one of the sons (pallbearers) in the obituary of James Ludwig from July 10, 1922 in the Allentown Morning Call. Ella Catharine Ludwig Fehr's Pennsylvania State Death Certificate no. 24356 (see under her notes) states she was the daughter of James J Ludwig and Sarah 'Tindall.' This is the source for the birth, death, and burial dates and locations for Ella Catharine. The death certificate says Ella was born in Northampton County. However, her father James and his family resided in Monroe County on the 1880 census, and as her birth is so close to 1880, perhaps she was born in Monroe County and not Northampton as the informant reported. For further sources on the children see notes under their own pages.
