Note: ayson, Va census and 1860, 1870, and primarily the 1880 Lawrence County census, the death certificate Cassandra Booten Moore, birth and death records from the Lawrence County Courthouse for the children of Stanford, and miscellaneous death dates from tombstones in the Lebanon Cemetery, Fayette, Lawrence, Ohio. PARENTS: The source for the birth of Stanford Moore is the Grayson County, Virginia Vital Records and his deathdate is from the Lebanon Cemetery in Lawrence County, Ohio. The 1900 census lists Cassandra's birth as April 1840, not May 1, 1840. The death date of Cassandra Booten entered here is from the Ohio Death Certificate index, Volume 1348, certificate 23105. CHILDREN: The source for the birth of William Boyd in Virginia is the 1900 and 1910 Oregon census records which state that he was born in Virginia, and not Ohio as his siblings. I have chosen to list the county of birth as Wayne, since that was the place of Stanford and Cassandra's marriage three years earlier. The marriage of William Boyd to Ella is from Lawrence Co Ohio Marriage, Book 12, page 536. His second marriage to Estelle J in 1888 originates with the 1900 Oregon census and is verified by the 1910 Oregon census. The information for the death of William Boyd is from the Oregon Death Index 1903-1938, certificate 303, and burial of William Boyd Moore is from the Ironton Register 19 and 23 Aug, 1935. The information for the death and burial of Malinda Belle Moore is from the Ironton Register 19 and 20 Sept, 1936 (the place of her death is from the West Virginia Death Index 1853-1973), and her birth record is from the 1900 Lawrence County, Ohio census. The marriage for Floyd is from Lawrence County Ohio Marriage Book, Book 16, page 169. His death and burial information is from the Ironton Register 18 Aug, 1904. His date of birth is from the 1900 Lawrence County, Ohio census records which. The source of the 1876 marriage of Rosella to John H Dowling is from The Boyd County Public Library Marriage records. This would mean that Rosella probably married around age 14. Her age is 7 (birth 1863) on the 1870 Lawrence County, Ohio census but increased to 39 (birth 1861) on the 1900 Lawrence County, Ohio census, and the marriage date on that latter record is moved forward to 1878. Her birthdate of 1861 on the 1900 census would conflict with that of her older brother Floyd, whose age is 9 (birth 1861) on the 1870 census and March, 1861 on the 1900 Lawrence County census, and confirmed on his headstone in the Lebanon Cemetery, Lawrence County. She may have added two years to her age in the 1900 census to soften the young age at which she was married. In either case, Rosella was a minor when married. A John Dowling is living with the family as a boarder on the 1870 census while Rosella was about 7 years old. The information on her death comes from Ohio Division of Vital Statistics. Death Certificates and index, December 20, 1908-December 31, 1953. State Archives Series 3094. Ohio Historical Society, Ohio. The information for Asa Dowling Moore is from his Ohio State death certificate, his obituary, a marriage notice in the Ironton Register, and family knowledge. Old family heresay from my grandmother gave the name of Charles' wife as Anne, and he is supposed to have settled in Indiana. There is a Charles F Moore living in New Albany, Floyd, Indiana (just up river from his hometown) on the 1900 and 1910 census who fits the bill very well. He is married to an Anna, both his parents are listed correctly as being born in Virginia, and most curiously, his son's name is Walter Boyd, probably after Charles' brother, William Boyd. It is on this strong circumstantial evidence that Charles F. Moore has been coupled with Anna. It was subsequently discovered in the Indiana Marriage Collection, 1800-1941, that the name of his wife was Anna Belvois. The confirmation of the birthdate of Charles is the 1900 Floyd County, Indiana census. Charles' death date and location, and confirmation of birth date comes from Cook County, Illinois Death Records, file 6032553
