Ernest Massey Jr. had four wives and three divorces. According to my mother his first wife was Betty (Elizabeth) von Hacht whom he married in 1942. An Ernest M. Massey, Jr. and wife Betty V are found in the 1944 Palo Alto phone directory. According to my mother they divorced in 1946. According to my mother, Ernie's second wife was Thelma. We found an application for marriage between an Ernest Massey and Thelma Kizer in Monterey County in 1949, certificate number 872 and state file number 4849, and a marriage date in Alameda County of 19 Feb 1949. Their marriage lasted at least until 1951 when they were found as husband and wife in the 1951 Laguna Beach phone directory. According to my mother they were divorced in 1955 and he then married Beverly Flagger shortly after that, whom he divorced in 1963. Ernie married a fourth time to Virginia Partida abt. 1969.
