Monroe's wife, Alice B Roberts, is the grandaughter of his aunt, Mary A. Musick.
The source for the death of Monroe is FindaGrave.com online. The source for the 'killed in a railroad wreck' is the Kohl chart referred to under the notes of his father, Thomas. It could also be substantiated in the local newspapers, no doubt.
Subsequent research in 2015 discovered a first marriage of Monroe D Musick to Emma Messinger two years before the second marriage to Sarah. It is listed as Monroe D Musick to Emma Messinger in South Easton.

There are two Emma Messingers born in the 1850's on the 1870 Northampton County census. No further research was done on Emma and without knowing which one she was I have entered her birthplace as Pennsylvania (the birthplace of both Emmas on the 1870 census) and her birth year as 'bef 1856' which is the latest she could be born to be of age for an 1874 marriage.
