Note: n a roundabout way. The California State Death Certificate no. 5456 for Katharine Driver, born 1875 in Ohio, lists her parents as Isaac Moore and Josephine Snyder. The informant is her sister, Nellie G Brandes.
This document is the source for the birth, death, and burial dates and locations for Katharine. A Katharine 'Drever' born in Ohio in 1875 was found on the 1940 Los Angeles census as a widow, and the document stated that in 1935 she lived in Denver, Colorado.
Upon searching the 1937 Denver City Directory a Katharine Driver was found, and listed as widow of Thomas H Driver. This is the source for the name of Katharine's husband. Thomas H and Katharine Driver are found on the 1930 census in Idaho. Katharine's age is correct, she is born in Ohio, and her mother is born in Kentucky. This census is the source for the birth year and state of nativity of Thomas H Driver. He was listed as an Indian (Native American) on the census. Their marriage year is given on the 1930 census by listing their respective ages at marriage. Katharine was 33 and Thomas H Driver was 34 making the year of their marriage 1911, if you base it on the age Katharine gave for herself on the 1930 census which would have given her a birth year of 1878, three years younger than she really was. If she was 33 at her marriage and we count it from her real birth year of 1875, the marriage year would have been 1908. This is an unacceptable date as she was referred to as single in the 1909 obituary of her mother. To be safe I have said, in the absence of finding a document, 'aft. 1911.'
Subsequent research in 2018 discovered a much easier way to confirm their marriage and date- their Washington State marriage certificate no. 12536. This is the source for the location and date of marriage, the names of the parents of Thomas Driver, and their respective birth locations. This document also lists Katharine as 'divorced', though she is listed as Katharine Moore on the certificate. It also lists Katharine Moore's father Isaac Moore's birthplace as North Carolina rather than Grayson County, Virginia. Grayson County borders North Carolina.
