The 'bef. 1837' date for their marriage is based on the age of the oldest child on the above census.

The source for the birth and death dates of Samuel is his headstone in the Dansbury cemetery, Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
The source for the maiden name of Henrietta is the 1915 Pennsylvania State Death Certificate no. 73504 of her son, John N Diehl, in which his parents are listed as Samuel Diehl and 'Henritte' Lesher.

While looking for the marriage of Samuel and playing with three Samuel Diehls residing in Bucks County as candidates I received the following communication from Tom, one of the primary research genealogists of the Bucks County Genealogical Society, which steered me in an entirely different direction, leading me to the current conclusion.  His e mails are listed below in response to my interest in the three Samuel Diehls in BUCKS County:

 "Dear Neil,

I find no evidence of Jacob [the father] in Bucks County after his second marriage.  He died in Buskhill Twp, Northampton Co. His daughters Lena Knecht, Sarah Andrews and Catharine Comfer are all living in northern Northampton or Monroe County, in the vicinity of Bushkill.  In1850, a Samuel Deal, age 37 (born 1813) is living in Stroudsburg [Monroe County].  This seems a much more likely candidate for Jacob's son Samuel.  This Samuel was married to a Henrietta and is buried in Dansbury Cemetery in Stroudsburg.  The 1813 and 1815 Samuel's from Bucks County are definitely not the sons of Jacob.  I haven't found the parents of the 1819 Samuel but given a middle initial H., it's unlikely that his mother was Anna Rosina Odenwelder (this is a dated response as Anna Rosina has been subsequently proven NOT to be the second wife of Jacob. See notes under father).

And a follow up e mail a few hours later, in response to my query as to why he thought Monroe County would be the place of residence of this Samuel:

Because Jacob died in Bushkill Twp, Northampton Co, not in Bucks County.  Yes, his first wife and his three children by her all lived in Bucks County.  But it's clear that Jacob left his first family behind.  As I mentioned, his three daughters were all living in the Buskhill area in 1850.  Stroudsburg is not that far from Bushkill. I can definitely rule out the 1813 and 1815 Bucks County Samuel's because I KNOW WHO THEIR PARENTS ARE.  While I don't know the parents of the 1819 Samuel, in addition to the geographic location issue, and the wrong middle initial, he's also the wrong age.  Jacob most likely named his children in his will in birth order.  Magdalena Knecht was born in 1815 so Samuel was probably born 1813-1814.  This makes the Stroudsburg Samuel the most likely choice, both in terms of age and location."
