Note: ased on the research of Dick Musselman beginning in the sixth paragraph. 'Knecht Family History, 1702-1985' by Linda Klosek, 1417 Mashie Drive, Wescosville, Pa, 18106 did not include Anna Margretta as a daughter of Jonathan and Anna Margretha. A verification source for Anna Margretta as daughter of Jonathan is "Pages of Confirmation" from the Plainfield Reformed Church, Plainfield, Northampton, Pennsylvania, 218MM from the Marx Room of the Easton Public Library, which lists her as being sister to Henry Knecht and daughter of Jonathan, along with her age. Author Linda Klosek of the above cited book agreed with this addition and admits she overlooked this child. Sources searched online in 2016 for the marriage or death of this Anna Margretha included the following: Date of Search 4/15/16 General NOTHING RootsWeb World Connect info NOTHING Ancestry Public Member FamilyTree NOTHING Ancestry Marriage NOTHING Ancestry Hints Ancestry Death NOTHING Ancestry Military NA Ancestry Census While there is a Margrette Knecht listed in the wife's normal position of brother Henry Knecht on the 1850 census, this is probably a mistake and should read Magdalena (the name of Henry's wife), and does not refer to Henry's sister, Margrette. FS marriage NOTHING FS death NOTHING FS census Same as Ancestry census above FS parent NOTHING Find a grave NOTHING The 2016 research of Dick Musselman follows: "A search of Estate file indexes at the Northampton County Archive found no entries for [her parents] a Jonathan (d. 1834) or Anna Margretha Knecht (d. 1863). An unsuccessful search was also conducted for a Jonas Knecht since the given names Jonas and Jonathan were sometimes interchangeable and references to a Jonas Knecht were found in other Northampton County records. A similar search of Northampton County recorded Deeds found many entries for a Jonathan and a Jonas Knecht but none were relevant to our search mentioning a daughter named Margaret. Many of the Plainfield Township tax-lists from 1825 through 1835 include the names of the ‘Poor Children” for whom their fathers could not afford the cost of education. Anna Margaretta Knecht did not appear on any of these lists. Marriage entries listed in the abstracted Plainfield Reformed Church records are very sparse and no doubt incomplete. They were searched and no entries found for an Anna Margretta Knecht. The inclusion of her name and family relationships in the Plainfield Church confirmation records was verified. A search for her name as a baptism sponsor in Plainfield found no viable entries associated with other Knecht family entries. The following entries were found in “Plainfield Reformed Church, Plainfield Township” copied by Wm. J. Hinke, Feb.-Mar. 1934. This book is listed as Volume ‘M’ in the Marx Room collection of church records: Page 212: List of attendees at the preparatory services on 8 Nov. 1828 included: Margaret Knecht Page 213: List of attendees at the preparatory services on 23 May 1829 included: Jonathan Knecht Page 217: List of attendees at the preparatory services on 15 Jun. 1833 included: Margaret Knecht Page 218: List of children confirmed on 15 Jun. 1833 included the following: Henry Knecht, age 19, son of Jonathan Anna Marg. Knecht, age 16, daughter of Jonathan Page 221: List of attendees at the preparatory services on 27 Jun. 1835 included: Margaret Knecht Jr. (note: I believe this is most likely the daughter of Jonathan & Margaret Knecht; the same Anna Marg. Knecht confirmed on 15 Jun. 1833.) I did not extend the Anna Margretta Knecht search to other Northampton or Monroe County churches. Her name did not appear in any indexed newspaper entries." The page 221 citation above is the source for her 'aft. 1835' death.
Note: As of 2016 nothing is known of the marriage or death of Anna Margretta b
