Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, Frankfort, Kentucky. This document lists his parents as Tom Johnson and Liza Lewis. The informant is Mrs. Malinda Smith. This is most likely the daughter, Malinda Nethercott, on the 1910 census. She is listed as age 29 and widowed.
Benjamin's age is given as 76 (scribbled over with corrections) and 23 days which would put his birthdate at about 1849. This looks hastily written and the 76 years and 23 days are not in the exact locations they should be. His birth year is 1847 on the 1910 census, 1851 on the 1920 census, and 1847 and 1846 in the 1850 and 1860 Lawrence County census' respectively. I taken the average and entered 1847 as his birth year. I have disregarded the 1851 birth year on the 1920 census as inaccurate, as he appears on the 1850 census.
Sarah E.'s birth year is 1851 on the 1910 census and 1855 on the 1920 census. I again have entered the average.
