Note: , 1740-1850 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations Inc, 1999. Original data: Dodd, Jordan R., et al.. Early American Marriages: Virginia to 1850. Bountiful, UT, USA: Precision Indexing Publishers. The source for the age and birthplace of Bertha is the 1910 Missouri census. This is also the source for the partial reconstruction of the family of Walter and Bertha. "United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MLM4-SHY : accessed 9 December 2015), Walter Moore, Morris, Sullivan, Missouri, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 166, sheet 1B, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,374,839. As Walter and Bertha both died in 1918 the chlidren are found on the 1920 census with grandparents Austin and America. "United States Census, 1920", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M88F-YCF : accessed 9 December 2015), Austin Moore, 1920. These two census records may not reflect ALL the children of Walter and Bertha. The source for the birth and death dates and burial location of Walter and Bertha, as well as the existence of an infant daughter of unknown name is their headstone from the Baker Cemetery, Green City, Sullivan Co., Missouri, USA. Further information was gleaned from the joint obituary of Walter and Bertha who died within two days of each other during the 1918 flu epidemic. It says that he was the brother of 'brother of Mrs. L. E. Harris of this city.' Among the children I have found there is no sister with those initials. The closest is his sister Lydia A, who was married to William P Barclay, and is buried next to him under that name. There is an online scan of the original of this obituary which I have consulted, but it is without name of paper or date. The source of the burial date of Walter and Bertha is the Missouri State Death certificate for Walter Moore, which also records the maiden name of his mother as 'America Cassity', which I have transcribed into Cassity. The headstone of Walter and Bertha includes the engraving "infant dau. Dec 13, 1914." See notes under the children for their individual information.
Note: The source for the marriage of Walter and Bertha is Virginia, Marriages
