Note: PARENTS: Albert is not found on the 1900 Michigan census with the family of Samuel Knecht, and no 1880 census has been found for his parent's family. Albert's connection with this family was his marriage certificate cited below, which lists his parents as Samuel Knecht and Mary Harley.

Emma Knecht was by birth a Perkiss as that is the surname of her father on the certificate. She is the same age as Albert's first wife, Emma Purkiss, she has the same father's name, and her married name is Knecht. I submit that Albert remarried his first wife for his third marriage.
