a. Note:   From Lois Jenkins---He was married first to Melissa Sproul in 1865 (Digby Co. Birth record of son Clarence.) He was a shoemaker. His marriage record to Dorothy gives his place of birth as Bridgewater. His death record says he died at the Alms House where he had been for two months, at age 80, born Bear River, Baptist, buried Marshalltown cemetery.
