a. Note:   The following obituary was placed in the Moncton "Daily Times" at the time of Lillian's death. (Sorry I do not have actual dates ... probably around March 4 1927).
  Mrs. T.R. Hicks: The death took place in the City Hospital Thursday morning of Mrs. T.R. Hicks who was removed from her residence in Lewis Street Wednesday afternoon and taken to the institution. Mrs. Hicks was only 55 years of age and suddenly stricken with paralysis, remaining concscious only for a few hours and passing away shortly afterwards.
  She was the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. I.N. Wilbur, of this city and had resided her all her life. She is survived by one son, Daniel W. Leighton, CNR brakeman of this city.
  The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon with services at the house at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made at Lutz Mountain.
  The following delay of funeral notice was published around March 5th, 1927 of the Moncton Daily Times:
  Funeral Notice: The funeral of the late Mrs. G. R. Hicks which was to take place on Saturday will not be held until Sunday Morning, March 6th. Service at the house at 9:30 leaving for Lutes Mountain at 10 o'clock. &ltNote: initial Error... should be Mrs. T.R Hicks
  The Following funeral notice was pulished following the service on March 6, 1927:
  The funeral of the late Mrs. T. R. Hicks, who passed away in the City Hospital Thursday following a short illness, was held Sunday Morning at 9:30 from the home of her son. Mr. Daniel W. Leighton, 49 Lewis Street to the Gorge Cemetery.
  The late Mrs Hicks. suffered from a paralytic stroke late Wednesday evening and was removed to the City Hospital but failed to Rally. Besides her son, Mr. Daniel W. Leighton, CNR Brakeman of this city, she is survived by one brother, Mr. Flewelling Wilbur of Moncton, and one sister, Annie, of Lutes Mountain.
  The service at the house was conducted by Rev. Mr. Coster, curate of St. George's Anglican Church, assisted by Commandant Hargrove of the Salvation Army. The Choir of St. George's Church were also present and rendered the hymns, "Abide With Me", "Where the Trumpet of The Lord Shall Dound," and "Under the Hills".
  Following the service at the house, the cortege left at ten o'clock for the Gorge Cemetery, where the committal service was conducted by Commandant Hargrove and the hymn "Shall We Gather at the River", was sung.
  The pallbearers were Messrs. J. Halfpenny, Michael Halfpennny, Ernest McDonald, Edward Armstrong, Fred Armstrong and James Wyllie.
  Several floral tributes and telegrams of sympathy were received by the family, expressing sympathy with them in their sad bereavement. Following were the tributes:
