  Deaths Mar 1890
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------
  Baker Edward 64 Mildenhall 4a 482
The following is taken from GENUKI:
"BROME, (or Broome), a parish in the hundred of Hartismere, in the county of Suffolk, 2 miles to the N. of Eye, and 22 miles S.E. of Diss station, on the Eastern Union Section of the Great Eastern railway. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Norwich, of the value with that of Oakley annexed, of £661, in the patronage of Sir E. Kerrison, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. The charitable endowments of the parish amount to £18 per annum. Broome Hall, now the seat of the Kerrisons, was for some centuries the seat of the Cornwallis family, who take from it the title of viscount. In the reign of Henry VIII., Sir John Cornwallis was Steward of the Household to Prince Edward (afterwards Edward VI.); and Charles, fifth baron, was created Earl Cornwallis and Viscount Broome by George II., in 1753. The old mansion, which was erected about 1585, and contained some fine specimens of oak carving, has recently been taken down, and a new hall built on its site. It is approached by a magnificent avenue of oaks."
The 1851 Finningham Census stated Edward was from Brome.
Edward was an Innkeeper in 1861 at the White Horse Inn (See attached photo).
