a. Note:   Thomas was an Anglican fisherman and his family lived at Ecum Secum in 1861-1871-1881, where he farmed and cleared about 5 acres. In 1881 Frances Jewers, b. abt 1800, lived with his family.

  Thomas Worthen's farm as shown in the census of 1861 consisted of three cultivated acres. In 1860, he cut five tons of hay and harvested ten bushels of oats and twenty bushels of potatoes. He kept five neat cattle, one milch cow, and five sheep, although he had a farm, he was also engaged in the fisheries.
