according to Winifred Taylor Hammond (McConeghy), Peggy had Edward by her first husband, then married again and had Grace.
In a letter dated 1919 Grace Hammond relates how she had had a letter from Peggy who had been very ill and how Jessie Taylor Hammond had taken care of Peggy's son, little Edward, during this time and how much she had appreciated this. Peggy spent some time in St Luke's Home (I assume some kind of rest home or sanitorium)
I believe the Dec 22 birthdate came from Charles Hammond's family bible, but either date may be a typo in the notes, we do not have the bible or a photocopy of it.

I could not find a birth for Margaret Eliza Hammond in the UK Civil Registration Index, nor any for any Margaret Hammond in Sunderland,
she may have been born in another district, but is not registered under her full name. I need to check the dates for all Margaret Hammonds.
