Notes
a. Note:   Mary never married. She retained a lot of her Scottish accent and many Scottish expressions throughout her life. She lived with her sister Margaret in Lowell, MA in the family home on Chelmsford Street, then later they sold the house and moved to an apartment in Chelmsford, MA. She was an accomplished seamstress and ladies tailor and for many years earned a living by making clothes for people. She made clothes for the other members of the family who then served as walking advertisements for her skills. She made the wedding gown and bridemaids dresses for her niece Winifred Hammond's wedding
