Note: source for this name is as follows, the records of marriages in the parish of St Patrice (St Patricks) in Magog, Stanstead County, Quebec. We surmise that the name recorded as "Murvy" may have either been Murphy or Mulray but have no certain evidence of that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- In the Stanstead County marriage records, Thomas Cassady m. March 2 1862 Mary "Murvy", St. Patrice . He is the widow of Catherine Dunigan, the parents of Mary Murvy are listed as James Murvy and Margaret Flaherty These records also list 2 other Dunigans : Joseph Dunigan m. Jan 29 1851 Sara McCoffrey. His parents are listed as Patrick Dunigan and Catherine Johnson, and her parents are given as Charles McCoffrey and Ann Carroll. Patrick Dunigan m. Jan 10 1851 Catherine Spellman, widow of Harvy Jacques and Patrick was the widower of Catherine Johnson (the above parents of Joseph) There is also one Donigan listed Edward Donigan m. Nov 24 1879 Flavie Moquin. His parents Patrick Donigan and Ann Lee. her parents David Moquin and Flavie Menard. The records of Dorchester County list many Cassadys but none match. For further information on the history of this region consult "L'Histoire de la Paroisse de Saint-Malachie" by Jules-Adrein Kirouac, Quebec 1909. (we have not yet located this book to consult it) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- Margarite Flaharty and Thomas Smith were the God-parents of Marguerite Eliza Cassady (=Margaret Cassady) also according to the St Patrick's parish records in Magog, Stanstead County, Quebec, Canada or the Stanstead Journal. We are not sure who Thomas Smith was, but surmise that he was the second husband of Margarite Flaharty and Mary Murvy/Murphy/Mulray's step-father.
