Family
Marriage:
Notes
a. Note:   The Walker family Bible reads "Amos Donelson and Hannah Walker was married this day 14th of January, 1863"
But Hannah was not listed with the family in the 1860 census, so she may have been married before 1860. The Bible does not say who married them or where the marriage took place. But the Walkers were living in Clay Township, Huntingdon County in 1860
Walker Family Bible reads : "Hannah Walker was born April the ?0 in the A.D. 1841"
(Note: The only visible digit in the day seems to be a zero with a space before it, it might also have been the bottom of a 6, there is no evidence of another preceeding digit however and all other dates have a suffix after the day such as "th" "enth" "nd" etc and this is absent in this entry and there is no space for it. The 0 might also be the top of a 9, but it is written even with the bottom of the baseline and if it had been a 9 I would have expected that the top part would have been higher up on the evidence of other numbers.)

Have not yet located husband Amos for sure in any census. They may have been married between 1850 and 1860, because Hanna is not listed with the family in the 1860 census.
But the family Bible reads "Amos Donelson and Hannah Walker was married this day 14th of January 1863."
(I did locate another Amos Donelson with a wife named Hannah of the approximately correct ages but that turned out to be a Hannah McCleary, and had a son born in 1860.)

1850 US Census, South Woodbury Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, page 213-B, Dwelling #41, Family #42, ancestry.com image #4 of 26, enumerated October 15, 1850.
John Walker, head, age 41(or40)!, occ: laborer, born in PA
Elisa(sic),(wife), age 38, born in PA
Hannah, (daughter), age 10, born in PA
Jacob, (son), age 7, born in PA
Joseph, (son), age 5, born in PA
Sarah, (daughter), age 3, born in PA
John W.,(son) age 1, born in PA
(John's age is way off here he must have been about 55, and Eliza must have been 28 not 38, son John W. apparently died in childhood because he does not appear in the 1860 census. Ages of the children are all a bit off as well. This enumerator did not mark the column for "attended school" for anyone on this page, but did mark that column on other pages.

In the 1860 census, July 7 1860, there is a Hanna Walker, age 18, occ: serving, born in PA
living with a prosperous farmer named Jesse Davis,41, his wife Miriam and their 3 children ages 3 to 11, in Colerain Town, Colerain Township, Lancaster County . 18 would have been exactly the right age for Hanna in July 1860, but we have no way of knowing if this is the correct person. Lancaster County is a considerable distance from Huntingdon County so it seems unlikely that she would have found employment at such a distance from her family unless the Davis family had relations in Huntingdon County.

 In the 1860 Census, Oct 2, 1860, Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, PA, Zachariah Donaldson, 66?, Rachel, 64, Benjamin, 27, Rebecca, 29, Amous(sic), 23, Hannah,20,Rachel F.,3, John W., 2, and Elizabeth Rulley(?), 26.
It appears that Benjamin and Rebeca were married and that Amous(Amos) and Hannah were married. Our Hannah would have been 19 in Oct 1860, not 20. The children could have belonged to either pair. The Walker family bible says Our Hanna and Amos Donelson were married in 1863 so this is probably not our people but is identical to the other Amos and Hanna (McCleary) mentioned above.
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------
The same Amos Donalson and Hannah are listed in July 1870 in Springfield Township, but then Amos is shown as being 35 and Hannah as 27, there are 5 children aged from 1 to 10, and Amos's mother Rachel, 74 is living with them. If these ages are correct then in 1860 they would have been 25 and 17 or maybe 26 and 18.
