Notes
a. Note:   may also be buried in parish Derrykeighan instead of Billy Parish?? (uncertain where this info comes from, it may just be an error because some family records mistakenly thought that Ballymacfin was in Derrykeighan parish) We don't know if John and Betty's graves were ever located by someone or if their burial locations are merely family recollections.
See note on his father, Daniel McConeghy.
There is a John McConeghy listed in Ballymacfin in the 1803 Antrim Agricultural census.
the order of John's children is uncertain, we only have dates for Daniel and we have him listed first. Mike Cady's file lists them in the order Polly, John, Sally, Daniel. It would maybe seem more likely that Daniel as the oldest son might have been named for his grandfather, just as son Daniel later named his first son after his grandfather, this John, and his second son after himself (and his great-grandfather)
We have no information about John's children other than Daniel, just their names from old family notes. We don't know if they lived past childhood or if the remained in Ireland or emigrated. It had seemed likely that if any of them did emigrate, it was not to the USA or else the families would have probably had some contact, however, according to Laura Larrabee McConeghy's McConeghy Family Lineage report, Daniel had 2 sisters, Polly [possibly Mary?] and Sally (possibly Sarah ?) and a brother John residing in Philadelphia, PA [it is unclear if she meant that all three lived in Philadelphia or just John]
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---
Laura Larrabee McConeghy's Lineage Report on the McConeghy family that she wrote in 1941 lists John's birthdate as 1787.
She says that John and Betty Knox McConeghy were buried in Parish Derrykeahon (sic) [i.e. Derrykeighan] but the report continually assigns Ballymacfin to that parish although the correct parish was Billy. So it is unclear if they were buried in Billy or in Derrykeighan which in any case is nearby. She says his death date is unknown.
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------
John was still living around 1852 or 1853 because Matilda Morrow McConeghy, son Daniel's wife returned to Ireland from Delaware to care for him. She returned to the USA in 1857 so it is likely that John had died that year.
