Note: nitor of this branch of the Reese f amily, is supposed to be a son of the George Reese who settled in Maryland bu t there is no definite record to show who his parents were. He was born i n 1774, and died Feb. 17, 1851, according to the inscription on his toumbston e. He married Nancy Janes, who died Jan 11, 1854, age not given on her tombs tone. George Reese came to Monongalia county and settled on Deckers Creek, nea r Morgantown, some time before 1801, as his daughter Anzy, who married Samu el Linn, was born there at that time. Samuel Linn, son of William Linn (I) and Isabel Gibson, was born Sept 22, 1789. He came with his parents to Glady Gr eek, in Monogalia County, now Marion County, in 1804. He married Anzy Reese, daughter of George and Nancy (Janes) Reese, of Glady Creek, Dec 26, 1822. G eorge Reese was Welsh, and came from Loudin, or Fairfax County, Va, to Morgan town, W. Va., about the year 1800. He was a corporal in the Colonial Army i n the War of 1812. Any female decendant of George Reese is eligible to mem bership in United Daughters of 1812. George Reese and family moved to Glady Cr eek in 1815. George Reese, enlisted in the war of 1812 from Monongalia County, Va, now W. Va. He was a corporal in Capt. Samuel Wilson's company, in servi ce from 1813 to Mar. 4, 1815, when he was discharged. Record is in Volumn 131 of West Va.
