a. Note:   , IN, and OH and traveled extensively. He set up his own tailor shop at age 15 and became a merchant tailor. He later worked for Uncle John Purdue for many years in Purdue's businesses and managed his farm. In 1865 a farm was purchased on Bale Kenyon Road and McCammon returned to Ohio. Married to Amanda Van Brimmer descendant of Chase and Van Brimmer family of early Ohio settlers. He and Amanda moved to Westerville OH and set up tailor shops there. He did the accounting for several area farms. People still recall the he made the wedding cloths for many area men.

Note:   He was born in Shirleysburg, PA. After his father died, a neighbor, Abraham Long (whose family had founded Germany Valley, PA, and the Dunkard religion there) became his guardian. He lived in PA, IA
