  James GIBSON b ca 1745 (foreign); may have married Mary Woods 1778 NC; died 1835 Rutherford Co., TN. Children mentioned in his will: son James, son Mathew, dauthers Betsy PATTERSON and Polly HENDERSON. James' will also mentions granddaughter, Elizabeth BARLOW. Other children may be William (married Nancy BELLAH) and Samuel (no information). Mathew was born in 1798 NC/SC; married 1821 Wilson Co. TN to Mary JARMAN. William was born 1793 NC. Mary married ca 1805 William HENDERSON, son of James and Violet Lawson HENDERSON of Lincoln Co., NC. Any help on this family appreciated.

 My Gibson line goes back to James Gibson, who moved to Smith Co., TN in 1800. He and Francis Patterson lived near each other and witnessed each others deeds. James Gibson's daughter, Elizabeth, married William Patterson, Jr., probably in Smith Co., TN. Elizabeth's youngest brother, Matthew Gibson, married into the Jarman family. Other Jarman daughters married HH and Amzi Patterson. Owned land on Buffalo Creek in 1781.
