Note: "Salury Chany," living with parents In 1880 Young Co, TX, Prct 4, p426D A poem she wrote in her day book after the death of her first husband: I've pressed my last kiss on thy brow. I've breathed my last farewell. And hushed within my aching heart . The love I for you feel. The cherished joy of other days. Time never will restore. But dear one gone I love thee still. As fondly as of yore. Thy low sweet tones are in my ears. Where ere my footsteps roam. And pleasant memories of thee will make my heart their home. Farewell O how I long to gaze into those eyes of thine. Heaven spare thy heart the agony. That now is breaking mine. Another poem from her daybook (immediately following the above): When on this page in after years. you cast your smiles. perhaps your tears. Let thoughts of me your mind engage. And think of the one who wrote this page. Selura March the 4th 1887 Today I've promised to be the wife of one that I love dearer than life. I do hope that we will live happy in this life and in the life to come. I am resolved to try to make home happy for those round me. God being my helper Selura
