Note: (Account of wedding from The Lafourche Comet newspaper.) A grand wedding ceremony took place Tuesday evening at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the contracting parties being Mr. H. Victorin Toups and Miss Virginia Braud. Rev. Father Dubourg performed the ceremony. The Church had been elaborately decorated, especially around the altar, the wedding having taken place within the chancel rail. The front seats in Church were reserved for the members of the two families. The other guests, who were quite numerous, were escorted to desirable places by the following-named ushers: Messrs Edgar Toups, Klebert J. Braud, Octave Coignet, L. Toups, Gaston Coulon, and Dr. A. Foret, the last named being from New Orleans. Dr. Oliver Braud, a handsome brother of the bride, officiated as best man, and Miss Olympia Toups, a sister of the groom, was the graceful and attractive maid of honor. Preceded by the page, Claudia Celestin, and the little flower girl, Eugenie Braud, the maid of honor entered the Church, followed by the bride, leaning on the arm of her father. They walked up the middle aisle to the altar. They entered within the chancekl rail where they were joined by the groom and his best man, both of whom emerged from the sacristry. Prof. Emmanuel Chol, in charge of the organ, rendered one of his improvised marches in that talented style for which he is justly famous, at the conclusion of which Father Dubourg delivered a few words of counsel and cheer to the prospective couple and then united them in the bonds that are the cllimax to every joyful and successful courtship. While names of the couple werle being affixed to the register Mrs. (Dr.) Louis E. Meyer sang Ave Maria in a very sweet and charming manner. The ceremony being over the couple and their friends departed from Church, all feeling extremely happy. The couple drove to their future home on the corner of Jackson and Clinton streets. The bride is an amiable young lady, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Braud. She wore a costume of heavy white satin, a veil and a wreath. The groom, who is a popular young man, is a clerk in the shoe department of Ellis Braud's Sons' store. He also made an attractive figure. The Comet wishes the couple unbounded happiness.
