a. Note:   APLINGTON - Nettie Jungling, 95, of Aplington died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Bethel Reformed Church, rural Aplington, with Rev. Scott Summers officiating.
 Nettie was born Jan. 23, 1908, to Geert (George) and Stientja Staas Haats Eilderts in Wymeer, Germany. The family moved to the United States when she was one year of age. She received her education in a country schoolhouse in rural Aplington, Butler County. On Feb. 15, 1927, Nettie was united in marriage with Folkert Jungling in the Bethel Reformed Church parsonage. They farmed north of Aplington until 1970, when they moved to their present home. Nettie was a lifelong active member of Bethel Reformed Church. Flowers, gardening and traveling were among her favorites.
 Survivors include three daughters, Gerdena Mudderman of Parkersburg, Esther Jungling of Waterloo, and Carol Kromminga and husband Arlen of Ackley; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Jungling of Aplington; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Folkert; one son, Gerald Jungling; a son-in-law, Gratus Mudderman; her parents; one sister, Christina Freese; three brothers, Dick, Harm and Koert Eilderts; two half brothers; four half sisters; three stepbrothers; and two stepsisters.
