 Mike Eilderts, son of Gerritt and Trentje Wagener Eilderts, was born in Germany on Sept. 6, 1903. After coming to America he received his education in the Butler County School system. For many years Mike was employed by various farmers in this vicinity. He was united in marriage on Feb. 15, 195_ (could not read the last number on the obit) with Miss Lizzie Voy at Ackley. They farmed for nearly 16 years on a farm northwest of Parkersburg until they retired to their home in Parkersburg 7 1/2 years ago. He was baptized in infancy and was a longtime communicant member of Bethel Reformed Church north of Aplington which membership he transferred on April 11, 1968 to the Congregational Church in Parkersburg.
 Mike had been confined to his home since sustaining a hip fracture and passed away on Thursday morning, May 23rd, at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 17 days.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
 Surviving are his wife, Lizzie: 1 brother, Gerrit of Aplington; 1 sister, Mrs. Katherine Haats of Aplington; 2 half brothers, Koert of Ackley and Harm of Aplington; 2 half sisters, Mrs. Folkert Jungling of Aplington and Mrs. Herman Freese of Dumont; 1 step brother, Albert Haats of Aplington; 4 step sisters, Mrs. Gus Siefkens of Bristow, Mrs. Henry Behrends of Mason City; Mrs. Johanna Eillderts of Parkersburg, and Mrs. John Kalkwarf of Aplington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, May 26th at the Parkersburg Congregational Church with Rev. Daniel Meiners officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery at Parkersburg.
