Note: e contracted small pox in the line of duty...and apparently never recovered. He married Margaret Ingram (b. 1834 in Giles County TN) in 1854. Their children were Georgian Ann, Emily, Laura, Mary (Mollie) and William Charles (Charlie). John Lindsey was migrating to texas with his family (and several others) in 1869 when he became ill. The group stopped in Memphis, John went into the hospital, and later died of small pox. He is buried in Memphis. Margaret never remarried and lived with her children until her death in 1918.
