Notes
a. Note:   eral Home has a notation that Tabitha came from Commanche to Holdenville 22 years ago. Her pall bearers at the funeral were: Leo Barnes (living at time of this writing)grandson of C.F. (Bud) Akin, Jewell Akin (deceased) son of C.F. Akin, R.H. Akin, Jr. (living) son of Nora Lee and R.H. Akin Sr., Charles Akin (deceased) son of Nora Lee and R.H. Akin Sr., Billy Jean Greggs (deceased) grandson of C.F. Akin, Duncan Byerly (deceased) grandson of C.F. Akin and Floyd Byerly (deceased) brother of Nora Lee Akin.
Tabitha ran a whore house (hotel) at Medicine Lodge, Oklahoma near Lawton. This is apparently where all the gangsters hung out. Tabitha said many times that Jesse James used to visit her. There's a Medicine Park on the map but no longer a Medicine Lodge, Oklahoma.
I have been told that Tabitha left her children with her sister Fannie so that she could "run" her business.
Tabitha was thought to be part Choctaw Indian.
  She Married
Joe W Knight they are found on census for 1910

Note:   Tabitha lived in Lead Hill, Arkansas and then on to Corsicana, Texas arriving with daughter Susie in Comanche, Oklahoma around 1902. This information came from Susie's son Wayne Funkhouser. Hudson Fun
