Notes
a. Note:   ember Robert R. Richardson, who passed away on Friday, June 6.
Bob came to Brewster in 1965 and wore many hats in his 49 years of dedication to the Academy, including history department chair, director of studies, college admissions director, dorm parent, and coach. His wife Shirley joined the faculty in 1974 and their three daughters Andrea, Susan, and Lauren are Brewster graduates; Lauren is a current faculty member. Two of their grandchildren, Sean Hammond '09 and Kelsey Hammond '10 also are graduates.
“Bob’s passing is a great loss to the community,” said Head of School Mike Cooper. “His dedication to and impact on the Academy reaches across decades of students and faculty. In the 1960s he played a significant role in the transition of Brewster Academy from a quasi-public school to a fully independent school, and in the 1990s he was a member of the first faculty team to participate in the Brewster School Design Model. He will forever remain a vital part of the school’s history. Our thoughts and prayers are with Shirley and their family.” There will be a service for Bob on July 12 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Wolfeboro with a reception to follow at Brewster's Pinckney Boathouse. The photo above was taken at the dedication of Richardson House in 1997.
