Note: t your father. All the names of battle places are very familiar as I followed the fighting right up until the Japs were driven home. My uncle Phil managed a plantation in Papua New Guinea for many years before war broke out and then joined the New Guinea Voluntary Rifleman and I imagine was associated with the coast watchers which were mentioned. He was responsible for blowing up a couple of bridges before they left as the Japanese were coming down the island at which time he came home to Brisbane. He was a very dear person and I loved him so much.
