Notes
a. Note:   N36554 Died of a cereberal hemorage at 46. Worked in McColl cotton mills from just before Olene was born until Grandma turned 14. He loved to take walks after eating. A big cut up, could throw his voice. Referred to as "Little Jim." Also worked in logging, raising fighting chickens. Remembers seeing his momma when he was sick one time after she had died of a cereberal hemorage also.
Grandma says he was raised in a primitive baptist Church, but that she never saw him in church except at his funeral. That he never was one to look for trouble, but that if it came his way he could take care of himself and his family. Very concerned about his daughters when they came of age to date. Told them that if they went to church with a boy and he came with you and let you go in then came in later that they should leave and get back home. If they were out riding around and he was not treating you like a lady to get to the nearest house and tell them you want to go home. She never heard her daddy say four words with out hearing a dam, or other explitives.
Ella and Sulla are living with their maternal grandparents in 1920
