  No marker on his grave. Said he was unable to put a marker on his wife's grave, so didn't want one on his own---so the story goes. Another story says he is not buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Indiana at all. That he left Indiana before the Civil War could draft him and went to Kansas with his two oldest sons, as some of his family were Southern sympathizers. He had family in Missouri. The four youngest children were more or less raised by their older sister, Elizabeth and her husband, Alex McConnell.
