a. Note:   CENSUS DATA: The 1860 federal census, Carroll Co., GA, 10th Dist., page 36, taken 20 July 1860, shows a Lucretia Gamble enumerated in the household of A. (Alex) M. and Susan A. Bonner Steed. Lucretia is shown as age 19 and born AL. Lucretia Ellen's sister, Frances Rosenne Gamble, was married to William Smith Bonner and she may have been visiting the Steed/Bonners back in Carroll Co. at the time of the 1860 census.
  CENSUS DATA: The 1870 census, Fulton Co., GA, 4th Ward of Atlanta, p. 15, taken 30 July 1870, shows Loucretia Meador, female, age 28, born AL and living with her husband, N. J. Meador, age 34, born GA, and working as a wholesale tobacco merchant. Children shown were: Albert, male, age 5, born GA & Eugene, male, age 3, born GA.
 COMMENTARY: The Newton Meador family was living next door to his brother, W.F. Meador, and family. (SEE RELATED COMMENTARY IN NOTES FOR NEWTON J. MEADOR)
  CENSUS DATA: The 1880 federal census, Chambers Co., AL, Layfayette, Beat 8, SD=2, ED=21, Page 12, taken 4 June 1880 shows L. E. G. Meador, age 40, female, widowed, born AL and keeping house. Living with her were Albert, son, age 14, born GA; Eugene, son, age 12, born GA; and May, dau., age 10, born GA. Lucretia is living next door to Emily Gamble, age 51, born Ga. and shown as married. Living with Emily were Jno. C., son age 21; Octavia, dau., age 17; and Oscar, son age 14. All children born AL.
 COMMENTARY: The Emily Gamble noted above is, Emma C. Bonner Gamble, wife of George Marion Gamble who is also shown in the 1880 census living in Tallapoosa Co., AL (see comments in notes for George Marion Gamble regarding dual 1880 census enumerations).

 L.E.G. MEADOR LAND DEAL: On 9 November 1878, L.E.G. Meador, for the sum of $4000.00, purchases the following real estate from her brother, George Marion Gamble & his wife, Emma C. Bonner Gamble: a two story business building in LaFayette, AL; a blacksmith & wood shop in LaFayette; a dwelling house on 3 acres of land in LaFayette; plus a 20 acre plot; a 40 acre plot; a 10 acre plot all in Chambers Co., AL. Chambers Co., AL Deed, Mortage Records.
  L.E.G. MEADOR LAND DEAL: On 9 October 1883, L.E.G. Meador, for the sum of $700.00, sells real estate to Thomas W. Hightower (Thomas Hightower married Lula E. Gamble, daughter of George Marion Gamble.). Chambers Co., AL. Chambers Co., AL Deed, Mortage Records, Book 20, Page 98.
