a. Note:   CENSUS DATA: In the 1860 United States Federal Census, Mary Dillard, 19, born AL and Martha Dillard, 14, born AL are shown living with Sarah A Gamble, 49, born SC. They were living in Cotton Gin, Freestone, Texas. Mary and Martha Dillard, are in all probability the children of Jabez M. Dillard and Mary Finney. Jabez and Mary died in Tallapoosa Co., AL prior to the 1860 census date.

 NOTE: Sarah A. Gamble was the sister of George W. Ross, III and married a James G. Gamble. Sarah A. Gamble and Mary and Martha Dillard were shown living next door to her brother, George W. Ross, III and his family in the 1860 census.
