 COMMENTARY: Mr. Robert "Bob" Dillard of Arizona (a descendent of Jabez M. and Martha Finney Dillard) provided the following explanation of the identity of Elizabeth Dillard and William Jabez (Dillard) in the above 1860 census record. His comments are as follows: "Dillar, Elizabeth, female, 24, born S.C. - Elizabeth Dillard, b 1834, Laurens Co. SC, daughter of Jabez Dillard & Martha Finney Dillard & niece of Margaret Finney Craig. Gabeth, William, 4, born Ala. - William Jabez Dillard, b 1856, AL, orphaned (1857) son of Jabez Dillard & Martha Finney Dillard, brother of Elizabeth Dillard and nephew of Margaret Finney.
