 I have copies of documents that show William A Craig as a Private in Capt M G Slaughter's Company, Hilliard's Legion, Alabama Volunteers*
  *This company subsequently became Company C, Cavalry (5th) Battalion, Hilliard`s Legion, Alabama Volunteers.
  The 5th Battalion (Cavalry) Hilliard`s Legion and the 19th Battalion Georgia Cavalry were consolidated by S O No 305, A & I G O, Dated Dec 30, 1862 to form the 10th Regiment Confederate Cavalry.
