Note: JONATHAN NICHOLS enlisted at Mansfield, Conn. for Revolutionary War service, served as Private in 1776, also enlisted Oct., 1778, serving 14 months as private. Participated in the Battle of Trenton. While residing in Providence he made application for a pension which was allowed under Act of 1818. 'Connecticut Men in the Revolutionary War' shows JONATHAN NICHOLS recieving a pension from CT and living in RI - I do not find a date on this info but was based on the Act of 1818 for the pension NOTE: In 1780 a Jonathan Nichols Jr served in Col Wells Regiment - noted in 'Connecticut Men in the Revolutionary War', Volunteers, Uncassified Companies - Pensioners, Individual Records, Etc, 1776-1783. I wonder if our Jonathan Nichols had a son Jonathan? NOTE: 'Connecticut Men in the Revolutionary War', Town of Mansfield, I found Jonathan Nichols - Captain, days served 3 and Benjamin Nichols - Sergeant, days served 27. Again I wonder if related NOTE: 'Connecticut Men in the Revolutionary War', page 152 - Nichols, Jonathan, Mansfield, Throop Company, Apr 26, 1777, served 3 years
