a. Note:   t he and wife Nancy "Ann" had six sons William, David, John, Edward, James and Lemuel (Len) and four daughters Elizabeth Ralph, Susanna Loney, Sarah Stafford, and Winnie Brown. The estate papers mention sons John & Edward living in Stokes Co., NC. The 1800 Stokes County census lists the John Bullock household (page 621) and the Edward Bullock family (page 619).
  Y-DNA submissions show a close match between male descendants of Edward Bullock of Guilford County, NC and John & Mary Bullock married in Granville, Co., NC. Taking the book records and DNA evidence together makes a good case that
 these Bullock lines share a common ancestor Edward Bullock (married Sarah) of New Kent County, VA.
  Edward and Ann Bullock of Guildford Co., NC had children and grandchildren with names Edward, Sarah & John. Circumstantial evidence suggests John Bullock recorded in tax and property records of early Guildford County the likely father of Edward.
