1932 - The Hunter family of Virginia and connections reports Charles Stockton Edwards as living in Los Angeles.
1932 - “The Ohio Valley Saffords” reports Charles Stockton Edwards is living in Los Angeles and working as an efficiency expert. Married 24 June 1925 Elizabeth Card.
1940 Census - Charles Edwards (43) is living in a rooming house at 679 South Kingsley St. Los Angeles, CA; was in the same place in 1935; married, but his wife isn’t listed in this household; occupation: clerk in Bureau of Self Help - SRA Prod Corp, State of Calif.; was out of work for 2 weeks in the past year; worked 4 weeks in 1939; income: 200; had other sources of income; completed 4 years of college.
1944 - Elizabeth Card Edwards married a man named Armstrong in 1944, so it seems the marriage to Charles Stockton Edwards ended in divorce, as he died in 1983.

I am a descendant of Charles Stockton Edwards, son of Jessie Safford Edwards and Charles Lincoln Edwards. CSE was my grandfather. He married Elizabeth Card, and they had two children, Elizabeth and John. My father was John Stockton Edwards, who married Jeanne Alice Seidel.
I have two siblings, John Stockton Edwards, Jr., and Nancy Elliott Edwards. My name is Joanna Drue Edwards (Kenney).
I have recently started posting information about our family on Ancestry.com. There is not as much Edwards/Safford information up as there will be eventually, but I think you will find it interesting to Google Charles Lincoln Edwards. Much of his writing (biology) has been published digitally online by Google.
