Note: N1246 1850 census for Carlos McCray gives PA as birth place of his mother. 1880 Census - Candas McCray(76), now widowed, is living in Waukegan, Lake, Illinois, with her daughter, Eunice Maxson(56), son-in-law, Orrin R. Maxson (56), and granddaughter, Amelia (24). Also in the home are Catharin Steiner (30) and Elizabeth Keef(35), both servants. Candas (Candice) is widowed. 1880 Census - Candis McCray (74) is living in Prescott, Pierce, WI, with her son, Carlos McCray (55), his wife Rebecah McCray (55), and their children, Henry (30), Clarisa (23), Ellen (20), Alice (18) and Willie (14). Candis is widowed. Note: it seems Candice lived part time with Eunice and part time with Carlos. “This Certifies that this day I Married William McCRAY of Ellington to Candace McKINNEY of Vernon.
