  PRISCILLA BREWSTER HESTER MORRISVILLE -- Priscilla Brewster Hester, 84, died on Friday, May 23, 1 997 of a lingering illness in Copley Hospital, Morrisville. She was born in Newport, Wash. on Aug. 28, 1912, the daughter of Donald Ross and Anne (Allyn) Brewster. Her father was a lumber consultant for International Forest, so Priscilla grew up in such places as Minneapolis, Minn., Madison, Wisc, Cincinnati, Ohio, Memphis, Tenn. and Savannah, Ga. On July 5, 1934, she married Keith Hester, Professor of Music at the University of Southwestern. He predeceased her in 1982. A graduate of . Louisiana State University, Priscilla was an accomplished pianist and cellist, who taught in Lafayette Public Schools for 20 years, bringing the joy of music to hundreds of young people. After retiring, she continued to play the piano and organ for a number of local churches, including the Asbury Methodist Church. She also had a real passion for bridge and developed life long relationships with many bridge players in Lafayette. After living most of her adult life in Lafayette, Priscilla came to Craftsbury two years ago to reside in the Craftsbury Community Center where she was loved and cared for. Survivors include daughters, Kay Barbour Schmokel of Morrisville, Judith Anne Jones of Richardson, Texas and Hope Hester Brayden of Houston, Texas; a brother, John Brewster of Wheaton, III.; and a sister, Mary Harden Napolski of Naples, Fla. She was predeceased by a sister, Hope Kruschov of Los Angeles, Calif, several years ago. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Allison Beal, Sibyl Koss and Jason Jones of Dallas, Texas, Tom Brayden of College Station, Texas and Keith and Shelley Barbour, formerly of Burlington and now residing In San Francisco and Los Angeles, Calif. She is also survived by Wolfe Schmokel, son-in-law, and Professor Emeritus of History, University of Vermont, who provided much love and support to Priscilla during the last two years. Graveside services will be held In Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette, La. In lieu of flowers contributions in Priscilla's memory would be appreciated to the Craftsbury Community Center, Craftsbury, Vt.
